6 month update

It's been 6 months since baby Zac was born and he has brough such joy to our lives. I can't believe I asm still nursing him too, it's awesome! He is such a good baby now and loves his family. When ever he sees his sister he smiles at her. She adores him too. He seems to be teething now as he chews on everything, is a bit fussy and has 2 white spots on the bottom gum. They are going to push through any day now. I should probably go to bed since history proves that when I go to bed to late I am grumpy, late for work, and justy crabby! Hopefully this work week won't be so bad, (fingers crossed). It's been a crazy month and hard to believe that I won't be working past June 30th either. I have worked since I was 16 and losing my job is very surreal to me right now but once it gets closer I am sure the realization will kick in. I will be starting school in the beginning of June.

Well Zac is almost 5 months now. He will be on the 18th and is now exploring his feet and it's so cute. He lays on his back and grabs his little toes and now has something new to explore. He is such a good boy but has a short attention span. i have to constantly change what he's doing so he doesn't get bored. I would like to update more but this is good for now. Hopefully I will be able to update more.

Ode to my Kidney

Well on 12/2/10 I went into the emergency room with the worst pain I ever had on my lower back on the left side. Turns out I have a kidney stone, the first one ever! The doctor said it is about 3mm and I should pass it. Well, 5 days later it still has not passed and I am still waiting! Here is the CT scan of this not so lovely bastard! You see the little white dot on the right side of the picture? That's it and they say its in the ureter right about to go into the bladder. I hope this thing moves quick because I don't want this to be in here forever!!

Baby Zac sure is busy at night. I have a feeling he is going to be just like Zoe and be up all night and sleep all day. He is definitely squished in there, sometimes seems like he is trying to kick his way out of my belly button! Definitely getting bigger that's for sure. You are estimated about 6 pounds 2 weeks ago. I suppose we might see how much you have grown this week. I am keeping positive for my VBAC and am very hopeful this will happen. My goal is to have a not so painful labor and to do alot of relaxing.

Monday monday...Went walking at work and must have walked too fast and ended early b/c my tummy was burning. Then off and all day had some cramping; probably braxton hicks. My foot is no longer hurting so that is good thanks to going to the chiropractor for an adjustment last week. Waiting to get the baby's room done soon. I hate cleaning!

I feel like all I do is complain anymore b/c I can't do much. Being outside for long sucks b/c it's so humid my hands swell up and my tummy as well. So I like sitting in the house with the AC, that's wonderful!

Today felt like a Monday at work and I was so tired! I need to go to bed earlier but I still seem to stay up til 11pm every night no matter what! Just like now I can't go to sleep b/c I have to watch America's Got Talent. I am sore from standing on my feet all evening folding and putting my clothes away but now chilling in my nice comfy new bed, love it!

Well, woke up at 6:15 this morning and am still going. Yesterday we went to the beach and it was beautiful! It was so hot that I just wanted to go into the water so, I bravely took my shirt off and showed off my baby belly and went into the water. It was refreshing, considering it is Lake Erie water.

Wow, this morning I woke up at 5:30am only to find myself unable to go back to sleep. So, I played on the computer for a bit, then decided to get some yummy sausage mcmuffins from McDonalds!! Came home and woke the hubby up and watched the morning news. It was time to take my morning shower and to my dismay, the water was not even close to hot. I jumped in the shower and the water was cold. I thought the cold was on all the way but, it wasn't. I turned the cold water all the way off and found the hot to be moderately warm. Minute after minute the water became colder and colder, and colder... Luckily it is the summer and nice and warm. Needless to say, I took a really quick shower this morning. I came to find out that father in law turned the pilot light off on the water heater the previous day and forgot to relight it. Other than that, my day went pretty well. Have had some contractions on and off today, but nothing unbearable. We'll see if baby Zoe comes during the full moon.

Ah, it's Friday and I have not worked in 3 weeks! I love it! I don't know when the last time I was able to sit home and watch soaps. I am getting to know what is going on again so when I go back to work, I will be good for a while. Still no baby Zoe yet so I was playing with photoshop trying to make announceemnts. I think I found one I liked and hope it works out. Right now I am watching Rocky II with the husband and enjoying the AC.

I am such a nice auntie. Today I helped my neices and nephew clean their rooms. I did more of directing than actually cleaning and it worked out well. I am in the cleaning mode but there is nothing to clean around here so, I found work elsewhere. It feels nice not to actually go to work, I could do this full time!

I can't believe I only have a few more weeks left of being pregnant and a little Zoe will be here. Her room is all ready for her and so are we. Here is a peek at her room.

I can't believe that people are still writing checks this day and age. Why is it that I am always stuck behind someone who is writing a check at the store? It happened to me again. My hands are swelling today and feel really tight just like my feet. It feels really weird. Maybe it was from all of the walking today.

Today was an eventful day for us. Today was my last day of work, yay!! I went to work around 8:00am and didn't feel quite right around 8:30. I was having some braxton hicks contractions until 9:30 when I knew I didn't feel normal. I felt sick and couldn't even talk on the phone to people. I ended up getting evaluated at the hospital and had only 2 contractions there in an hour. The nurse said that baby zoe will most likely come before her due date. It gave me a feel of what labor is going to be like. I came home and took it easy today and am officially done working until 2 months after baby comes. I am really looking forward to this freedom! Yay!!

Today we had another ultrasound and Zoe looked great! She was moving around a lot in there that's for sure. It was so awesome to see her again before she comes into the real world. Chad got some good video of her hearbeat too. Can't wait to meet our little girl!!!

Happy 4th of July! Yay, I have a day off tomorrow, I love holidays! Not sure what I am going to do with my free time but I bet I will work on the baby's room and clean the bathroom. My feet are swollen and feel so heavy right now b/c it is so hot in this house. Today I didn't get much done at work b/c I had to get my teeth cleaned...no cavities! Then, had court hearing and that took an hour and a half. So, I had a few moments to spare at my desk, picked up my free carseat, exchanged some baby stuff then came home and cleaned the changing table.

It's Friday, checkup day, then back to work. Uhh, I don't feel like working late tonight but that is what I will probably end up doing. Then, probably end coming in this weekend. I am so annoyed. Zoe has been very active and likes to move around alot, she also likes to sit on my bladder. In the end, it will be worth it all. Had a baby shower last weekend and Zoe received a lot of stuff, she will look so cute in all the outfits. I can't wait to send her pics to everyone when she is born.

Oh, and have you seen Star Jones? She is sooo skinny that I hardly recognized her on TV this morning as she gave an interview. She has lost alot of weight that is for sure. Why they fire her and add Rosie O'donnell is beyond me. I think Rosie is annoying and loud.

Work sucks and I am way behind on things. I have about 7 weeks to go until maternity leave and it seems I can't get anything done. I have to return 100 messages and have to balance that with getting paperwork and other stuff done. It's 7:11am and I can't shower b/c FIL is in the shower and I have to wait...arrrrhrhrhrhrh. The turkeys are walking around outside. At least today is a half day and I pick susie up from the airport this afternoon and we get down to business! Zoe is almost here!

Wow, I am 8 months already with less than 2 months to go now. I have been tired and took a nap yesterday and today. This week is another busy week at work for me. Well, we are back from a little vacation we took in Hershey, PA. It was really nice down there and I had a great time being away from Dreary Erie. I can't wait to take baby Zoe there some day. We toured the mock chocolate factory, went on historic trolly ride, saw 3-D movie, walked the Hershey Gardens, and went outlet shopping/browsing. We also saw a couple movies, I was pampered with manicure, pedicure, and massage. Only 2.5 more months until baby Zoe is here and I can not wait!

Ugg, today I had to drink 10 ounces of some orange glucose drink for my Glucose Tolerance test. The doctor checks preggo women to see if they have gestational diabetes that way. This drink is just sitting in my stomach and I could just vomit. OH ya, I had to fast for 12 hours too so one can only imagine how hungry I must be. But, it will be worth it in the end. Today I only work a half day so that is good...however I will be running my buns off b/c I have 4 appts. back to back. Oh what fun. I can't believe I have less than 3 months now until Zoe is here!!

I haven't updated in a while. We have been busy moving the past few weeks. We moved in with my father in law and I hope we don't stay here long. I miss my kitties...He made my kitties move out b/c he couldn't handle their hair etc. Well, you can't confine cats, you just cant. So, my sister allowed them to stay at her house until we find a place of our own. Jekyll seems mad b/c he hisses at everything and Cyrus is getting quite at home. He is very laid back. I worry about Jekyll b/c he hates change alot. I will visit them every day for as long as I can and hope they adjust well. It is certainly taking a toll on me but I keep thinking that this is not permanent and that I will have my buddies back soon. Have you ever wondered if you really made the right decisions in life? I can't wait until Zoe is here so I can focus on her and know that we need to focus on our future.

My back has been hurting since last Thursday and it is really bugging me. I hope this isn't a prediction of what's to come with this pregnancy. If it gets too bad then I will go see a specialist or something. I just don't feel like going to the chiropractor b/c I pay 15 bucks a pop and it seems to just fix me for the short term. I am sitting here on my couch and it smells so bad like someone is burning outside. I smell it everynight and oh, it stinks! Then in the morning Cyrus does his morning ritual at 6:30am Everyday, and I smell that too.

Work has been super busy and there is so much changing going on in my life that I haven't felt like posting lately. Not like anyone reads this anyways. I can't wait to go to the Train concert this weekend. Finally a day to forget about everything and have fun. I am too serious of a person. The baby's been moving a lot lately, especially when I am laying down. Jekyll woke me up at 5:30 this morning meowing away. I thought we locked him in the back porch so I hurriedly got out of bed only to see him in front of the back door, wanting to go on the back porch. There must have been an animal under the porch or something. Anyways, I go back to sleep and wake up at my usual 6:30ish and finally up at 7. Had a big breakfast at work and Zoe sure ate alot. Got home late tonight and baked a cake. It is cooling down now but I can't wait to eat it!! My back hurts, I am tired, and it feels like my tummy is pushing outward and feels tight.

Seems like I am always hungry these days. Good thing I bought a box of cereal tonight so I can snack on...Yummy Cinnamon Toast Crunch. This weekend we accomplished the baby registry at Babies R US. It was overwhelming to see all of the baby stuff there is! It is really fun scanning all of the baby stuff and imagining what the baby's room will look like though. Thank goodness we have a 3 day weekend this week!! Yay for Good Friday. Anyways, looks like this week is a very busy work week and I will be on my toes. I hope tomorrow morning goes by quickly and things move along. Off to eat my cereal.

Whew, today was a busy day. I got to work this morning, hit the gound running, and hadn't stopped since I got home. I made some dinner and baby Zoe enjoyed the food I think. We had another ultrasound today and saw our little wiggle worm. They said it looks to be a girl as the tech did not see any boy parts and saw girl parts. So, Zoe Grace it will be! We are excited and are thinking pink!

I think my baby's growing today. I've felt a little pressure this morning and this afternoon when I got home from work. I am really tired as today was an early day and I was up at 6:30 to be at a meeting at 8:00am. I don't know why I did that to myself but note to self: Don't schedule meetings on monday mornings. Anyways, it worked out well because I ended the afternoon about 15 minutes early anyways so I was happy.

Why do I watch Soap Operas? These darn people have untreated mental health problems and it is really annoying. For instance, why does Theresa keep going after Ethan when he is married and does not like her. She is so psychotic and he mom needs to admit her to the hospital. There is really nothing good on tv tonight. I am watching this show called invasion and it looks pretty interesting, a girl is pregnant with alien beings and is having a "litter." Glad I'm not having a litter, just one. I started a cold today and my nose is runny and cloggy and my head hurt. Feeling better now but if I had it my way, I would have taken a sick day this morning. But, I am not that lucky b/c I had work to do. I can't believe that by the end of next week I will be at 20 weeks...that's half way to the end already. The baby is getting bigger everyday and I am waking up more at night. I can't wait to have another ultrasound.

Mondays and Fridays are the worst days of the week, I so dread them. I did not want to go to work today and I just didn't have the energy to do much this morning but I did. I wish I could do office work all day. I spent the afternoon driving to and from where I was working and finally got home around 5:40. Then, Chad and I went swimming tonight for some exercise. Tomorrow is a late night.

Hmm...This morning I woke up at 5:00am to go to the bathroom and what do you know, I couldn't go back to bed so I just tossed and turned. So, I get out of bed around 7:10 to and take shower while Chad went to the Zoo to get us free zoo tickets, thanks Star 104.

I am very testy these days and am very emotional, hence, I cry a lot. Chad can say anything to rub me the wrong way, or I can watch something on tv and I am a raging river. It is totally not me. For instance, tonight I was watching Ghost Whisperer that I DVR'd from Sunday and by the end, I was balling...it was about adoption and I deal a lot about adoption at work. Anyways, work wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and that made me feel a lot better. I finally got my car washed and that was a big load on my shoulders. I hope this month is upward movement from here. January and February have been very difficult for me.

Monday and I did not feel like working overtime at all so, I left at 5:00 and sucked it up. If I don't get my work done, then I don't. Anyways, I went to the Doctor for a checkup this morning and Chad came with. I have only gained 0.5 pounds since being pregnant. I am feeling hungrier than usual lately so maybe I will gain some more by my next appt. My boss says I'm gonna have a big baby. I'll wait and see. Work sucked and all I wanted to do was go home and I only worked a half day. I am thinking of going into work early tomorrow to finish something up. We'll see if I get there.

Oh, I am so happy the weekend is finally here! Last night my back hurt and all I wanted to do is lay down. Today is a day of relaxing besides shivering in the freezing cold. I am 14 weeks 3 days pregnant and today was the first time we were able to see our little baby through an ultrasound. She was so active and kept moving around while the lady was trying to take some pictures. It is too early to tell the sex, but we were excited to see a healthy active person growing. It was so awesome and the most amazing feeling to see that there is really someone in my belly moving. (I think it will be a girl but, we'll wait and see.)

I think I have been watching too much Fear Factor lately because last night I had a horrible dream. I dreamt that I had a flying hissing cockroach and a huge bee, almost like a very huge queen bee. We actually had a very huge bee in out house during the summer and my cat was chasing after it in the kitchen. I was so glad he didn't get stung because he probably would have died. The husband took the almighty bee and hornet spray and that immediately shot it down. Anyways, in my dream last night the bee was hiding behind the entertainment center and I kept telling Chad to kill it and he didn't. Then I was walking around the house and my sister was here. The flying cockroach was following me around and got stuck in my hair. I went into a room and flicked the roach in and shut the door. I kept telling my sister to kill the roach and she just ignored me. I immediately woke up and was so scared for a minute and so mad that I dreamt about those disgusting bugs. I think it was also the fact that Chad shut the bedroom door and the cats weren't there to protect me from bad dreams. Tonight they will be by my side.

I have been working very hard these past 3 weeks and am getting very sick of working so much overtime but if I didn't, I would get most of my work done. Anywaysl, I took Friday off so it will be nice to have a day off but I will probably end up working a few hours on Sunday.

Going to a Baby Shower today which should be interesting. I love showers and am planning one for a girl I work with. I woke up early today around 7:30 and I could have stayed up but, I didn't. So officially got up at 9:30am today. My neices were over and they were awake as well so I stayed up and made breakfast. The girls had cereal and I had waffles. I hope there is some food at this shower because I haven't eaten since breakfast and I get cranky when I am hungry. I will bring a snack with me just in case. Au revoir! Monique

It is a new year and I have not made any resolutions because I think they are overrated. Today we went to see Hostel and it was a pretty gross movie. Then we had the Olive Garden for dinner and I hardly ate anything. I love their breadsticks. Not much going on around here except for working and enjoying the weekend off. Hopefully tomorrow, Sunday the husband and I will check out some open houses to look at some houses.

Wow, there is an award for the Best Driving Song on the radio music awards. Hmm, I would say for me would be Boyfriend by Ashlee Simpson. Yeah yeah I know she is a lipsinger, but that song is very catchy. Now Snoop is Santa Claus for the Pussy Cat Dolls. How about Maria Carey in her jean pants and boots. I thought celebrities were supposed to get dressed up for these awards.

Well, Susie comes home Friday night and I think we are going to meet her at the airport. This upcoming week should be fun. We have Monday and Tuesday off next week and on top of that, I took Wed, Thurs, and Friday off then we have the next Monday off for New Years. So, I will have an 11 day vacation using only 3 personal days!! Whoo hoo!!!

Everynight I have been dreaming about something and last night I dreamt that my cat Jekyll was urinating on the floor. Today when I took a nap, I dreamt that I gave Jekyll to some guy and his house was in bad shape. I'm not sure why I gave him my kitty but I missed Jekyll a lot and decided to steal him back. So, I went to the guys house to ask for my kitty back and he said no. When he wasn't looking, I grabbed Jekyll and quickly left his house. When I woke up, I was glad that Jekyll was laying right next to me. I have been a worry wort later and maybe those mixed with my emotions have been causing me to dream so vividly. I need to make some cookies for the work Christmas party. I think I will do that tomorrow.

Well, I tried to finish some work here at home tonight, but it wasn't happening. I need to finish some paperwork badly. Maybe tomorrow night or Sunday. The Fallout Boys are on Jay Leno tonight and they do not sound very good. They sound like a garage band. I like the song they have on the radio "Sugar we're going down swinging." Apparently they are some punk rock band so no wonder I don't like the song they played on the Tonight Snow.

Well, today I felt tired and took a nap from like 6:30 to 8:30. Now I am awake and there is nothing to watch on TV. I will have to read up on my book and some magazines and perhaps they will zonk me out. Tomorrow I am going Christmas shopping with Pam in the morning and hope to find some good deals.

Thursday night and I am watching my usual. Joey, Apprentice, and ER. I made some sloppy joes and green beans for dinner tonight and it was pretty good. I am tired and should be getting to bed but when I have been getting into bed all week, it takes a while to fall asleep. I hope I fall asleep tonight. Jekyll the cat is meowing away because I think he wants to go outside. Today was a crappy day at work and I was pretty mopey all day. I hope tommorrow goes better. I must say that I am really getting sick of that cheerioke commercial where all those people sing the jingle to the cheerios song. It is very over played. Anyways, not much going on but I hope to do some Christmas shopping this weekend. I am happy that I get the morning off tomorrow for some personal stuff to do.

Everytime I watch ER I think that Neela(Parminder Nagra) looks just like my sister Susan. She seriously is her twin in this world. My sister is the one on the left in the picture and I am on the right and the top picture is the actress. I am tired and am probably going to fall asleep writing this. I still need to work on my book, get it illustrated, and try it out on my neices. I can't wait to see my hair long. I have not had long hair for a verry long time. It is growing and maybe by the spring it will be pretty long and by summer time, it will be where I want it. I have tomorrow off of work and can't wait until my 11 days off at the end of December!!! I feel tired tonight while the last 2 nights it was hard to fall asleep, go figure. I keep yawning...Maybe my body thinks it is Friday already. I hope to wake up early tomorrow as I have been waking up late and having a hard time waking up these days. I can't wait to go on vacation the last week of December. I will be worry free and spending time with my family.

Whoo hoo, this Saturday we are going to Petsmart to get the kitty pictures with Santa Claus! I hope they turn out good. I am pretty sure Cyrus will be fine, but I am not too sure about Jekyll because he does not like to leave the house and gets mean when he is out. Wow, I am not ready for this week, I think I will take Friday off. I had to work late tonight and will have to do the same tomorrow night. I have lots of driving around to do tomorrow. I took some sleeping pills tonight in hopes to get some shut eye on time. I enjoyed my 4 day weekend way too much. I can't wait until the end of this month so i can go on vacation for Christmas!! Susie will be home and we can go wedding dress shopping...I love doing that. I think I'll become a wedding planner sometime in my life. I had a great time planning my wedding.

Thanksgiving is over and I would say Chad and I had an eventful day. First we went to his grama's house to eat then, to my sister's. After that we went to the Otters game and saw some Turkey bowling between periods. I was so stuffed yesterday! Today I went to my sister's house, had some yummy food, and took a couple of her kids to the golf dome to hit some golf balls. Now I am at home finally finishing # VI of the Star Wars Trilogy and will be able to give it back to the twins.

I had a weird dream last night about my brother. About a month ago he had surgery on his stomach due to a bicycle accident. Last night I dreamt that he went into the hospital and no one knew why. I finally found out why he went to the hospital and it was to have more surgery done on his stomach because he was not fully healed or something like that. My father was laying on the couch and was not concerned my brother was in the hospital and that made me upset. He said he didn't care that my brother was in the hospital and stayed home. I have been dreaming just about every night lately. I go into these phases where I dream a lot then don't dream, or don't remember them.

Anyways, I think this weekend I want to decorate for Christmas and hopefully we will get a tree. The cats are declawed now so they won't be able to climb up like they usually do, but I am sure they will try and pine needles will still be all over the place. I think I want to start on some Christmas cards tonight.

It has been snowing all day and the roads have been slippery so I need to get snow tires on my car. Tomorrow I have the morning off and am going to take the postal test then tomorrow night we are going to grama's for her birthday dinner. I am glad tomorrow is Friday! This weekend was great as I had Friday off for Veteran's Day...Thank you to all of the military personnel for all of your hard work! The husband was out of town this weekend so, Moo Moo and Robert stayed with me Friday night. Saturday night we went to the Erie Philharmonic with the kids, and Moo Moo, Robert, and Breanna stayed over. We had fun raking all of the leaves in the backyard and Moo was a very big help. I hope that I am able to wake up for work tomorrow morning.

Halloween is over. Yesterday I took my neices, nephew, and brother out Trick or Treating and they got lots of candy! Before we left, I took about 5 pictures with my new antique camera and my brother realized that the lens cap was still on. 2 weekends ago I went with my Mother in Law to an antique and found a cool older camera. I am thinking it is about 10 to 15 years old...the seller didn't know how old it was. It is pretty big. Anyways, it was a beautiful evening for Trick or Treating.

In other news. I was traveling through Edinboro with a couple of kids and 2 deer crossed the road...the very dirt road. So, I slowed down to 25 MPH and about a 1/2 a mile later, another deer comes running across the road from the passenger side and I slammed on the brakes. I hit the deer, it fell to the ground, and kind of slid under the car and at the same time I am screaming oh my God, oh my God! When I stopped, the deer got up and ran away and we sat in the car for a minute to digest what just happened. The children were frigntened, but were alright. This was the first time I had ever hit a deer. I didn't see any damage but I will look tomorrow morning in the light. I was going pretty slow so, I think that helped out. Tomorrow is a busy day at work.

Today was a good day because I interviewed for a new position at work today and I got it. It was sort of easier because I was the only person who applied for the position. Go me! I think I will like it better and I will actually be doing Social Work. There are a lot of changes going on. Next year I will be eligible to have my Master's degree paid for if I stay with the Agency for as long as it takes me to finish school. OH my, Trump fired all four of those people in the boardroom, anything to boost his ratings.

Tonight I went to dinner with the mother in law for Vo-tech's fall fest. The brother in law is in the culinary arts program and we were able to sample a buffet of food the students cooked. It was pretty good although I thought the pasta salad and pierogies were the best. I am watching Martha's apprentice and Jim is such an idiot! He is so getting fired tonight.

Ahhh, I have so much laundry to do and I hate folding laundry. Oh well, someone has to do it right. The husband is at his friends and the cats are being crazy. I think I will make some tea for myself. Tomorrow I have an interview for another position I applied for and I hope it goes well. I get really nervous and get tongue tied. I will think positively and be optimistic. I would really like the new position better. I am so behind with my work it is ridiculous and I don't want to work so much over time.

I feel great and full of energy. Today is the second day in a row I went to the gym did some tummy exercises and swam. Tomorrow I may go to the gym and do pilates after work. Maybe Thursday Pam and I will play some tennis. I am really trying to eat healthier too although today, I barely ate anything. Anyways, I am excited about Halloween! Once a year you can be anyone you want to be and I will be the same Martini glass I was last year. I am trying to decide on what color wig to wear. Last year I wore a blonde wig so, I may try a green or red wig. Not sure yet. I am leaning toward blonde again. It's not often that I get to be my true color.

Oooh, the movie Pride and Prejudice is coming out in November. I remember having to read that book in High School. I don't think that I read the whole book though, maybe I should borrow it from the library and read it. I need to read something. I am trying to have hobbies and occupy myself instead of doing nothing and just watching television. So, I have been crocheting while watching the television. It is very soothing. So far I can only do scarves. I will attempt to make an afghan soon. I need to figure out for who and what color. Hmmm, maybe I will make one for my mother for Christmas. She would really like that. I will do it with red and beige yarn. Or if they have some kind of multi red colors I could go with that.

No one has heard anything about that new position yet and I am getting antsy waiting for someone to get it. I hope I will know whether or not I get the position this week.

Today I had a training on how to engage father's to be involved with their children and their relationships with women. We were given this excerpt and it tickled my funny bone because it seems society has come a long way since the 50's. In a sense I sometimes think like this however, I don't always perform this way. This is totally grama's guide book. She actually accused herself of being a bad house wife because the freezer in the basement had some black stuff on the door.

The following is from a 1950's home economics textbook intended for high school girls, teaching them how to prepare for married life:

How to be a good housewife:

1. Have dinner ready: Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal - on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him, and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospects of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.

2. Prepare yourself: Take 15 minutes to rest so you will be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.

3. Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives, gathering up school books, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.

4. Prepare the children: Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces if they are small, comb their hair, and if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

5. Minimize the noise: At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of washer, dryer, dishwasher or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad to see him.

6. Some Don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.

7. Make him comfortable: Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

8. Listen to him: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

9. Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment; instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

10. The goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can relax.

It is getting cold out there now that it is October, oh how I love the changing of the weather. I have decided to utilize my membership to go to the gym on a regular basis and swim. I am hoping to build up my endurance and be able to swim non-stop for a long period of time and shape myself up. I am going to start eating healthier too...I should have been doing this already. I hope it works out for me and here's to ot a happier and healthier me!

Happy Birthday to me. I went to the Doctor's today and he told me that I have a sinus infection. I have never had one before so I guess there is a first for everything. I just feel so crappy. Now I have to take antibiotics for the next 10 days. I hope to feel better tomorrow so I can actually do some work at work and get to the Otter's game.

Today I am sitting here watching some soaps and Passions is so boring. I can't believe that I actually used to like this show, what was I thinking? Tonight Martha is on with her new Apprentice show and I am going to watch that.

I feel like crap today. I have caught a cold and I need to get rid of it, any takers? Well, the weekend was fun. Friday went out with Pam and Beth, had too much to drink and was not feeling well Saturday morning. At my age, you would think that I knew how to drink, but it seems I had forgotten. Rule 1, don't mix your alcohol, and Rule 2, don't eat just a salad before you go out, get some bread in your tummy to soak up the liquids. So I wake up Saturday feeling like a truck had run me over, and I felt the same way Sunday and Monday. I hope that I can fall asleep tonight and breathe out of at least one of my nostrils. My kitty has been a trooper all day with me though. He has been laying with me through this, what a good boy.

OMG, why are we watching the Office Chad? That is really the dumbest show I have ever seen, seriously. I don't know how that is on another season and how it was able to get good reviews. Anyways, I am tired and my back hurts alot today. Why is it that when I am out to find the perfect pair of shoes to wear with my dress clothes, it is impossible. I have been searching for the perfect shoes for a week and have had no luck. I found the perfect pair at Payless however, they were brown instead of black. I am looking for black pointy heels with a 1 inch heel to wear with my court clothes. It seems that they like to make shoes with 2-3 inch heels of which I can not wear due to my back problem. I already have 2 pair of 2 inch heel shoes and I can not wear them b/c I end up with a very sore back. So, I am still on the search for these shoes. I am starting to be a little less particular about the shoe style, but I still need a 1 inch heel. Here are the brown ones I like.

All I have to say is that I am exhausted. I had a very busy weekend that is for sure. Ok, Friday I went to hospital to see my brother because he needed surgery on his stomach. A bike handle bar went through his stomach Wednesday while he was riding it. After that, went to see gram b/c she had a cortisone shot done that day and needed a few things from the basement. Saturday, went to see a movie "Just Like Heaven" with the husband and it was soooo good! I recommend that movie if you are looking for a funny love story. Then, went to find shoes, and didn't. So, Pam and I were on our way to the Otters hockey game, paid 3 bucks to park, went into the arena and discovered that I did not bring my ticket stub. Ok, so we go back to her apartment and back to the hockey game. We saw Chris, the brother in law there and has some beers. After that, went home and did some laundry.

Sunday, woke up at 7:00am to be ready for Denny, Traci, and Nikki to be here by 8:30am to meet us. We were on our way to Allegheny Forest to do some rappelling. This was the first time I had gone and was verrrrry nervous as I am very afraid of heights. The first time I went down, I didn't like it. The second time was much better and the thrid, even better. After everyone had their turns, we headed to another cliff that was twice the size of the first one. I was not brave enough to rappel off of that one, so I watched. Maybe some day I will be brave enough.

Hello blog. Today was a pretty good day as I spent alot of time getting paperwork done and was in a pretty good mood. I am going to apply for a new position within my workplace and if I don't get it, I will apply for another one until eventually, I get something new. I don't want to jinx myself by putting that on here, but I really don't care and don't think my writing it out will determine if I get it or not. Not too much going on and the weekend was pretty relaxing. This week is my supervisor's last week as she is moving on to another job. Now I wait to find out who my new supervisor will be until they hire someone else. Cyrus is such a funny kitty. Sunday morning/afternoon I woke up to see Cyrus sitting on the floor covered in blue powder coat. Apparently Chad left the basement door open and Cyrus must have gone down there during the night. There was also a spot on the carpet that was blue. I was laughing so hard and it was great. Needless to say, he got a well deserved shower that day.

Not much to say other than that I decided to change my layout for my blog. Today I brought work home with me so I can get some of this crap done. I am going to do a little work Sunday at home if I get time. Tomorrow another day in court for the 4 day in a row, but I don't think it will be too bad. I will be super busy tomorrow. We won 50 bucks at the Nautilus b/c Chad was able to spin the wheel for referring Chris, I got to spin the wheel yay! I am hoping to have a nice weekend.

It is 12:15 and I am not too tired as I had taken an hour nap today, lazy me. I was just so tired today, all day!! So, I decided to blog to help me sleep better tonight. This morning I woke up at 6:15am to my kitty Cyrus barfing out his food on the floor. I am glad he actually made it on the floor instead of the pillow and clothes beside it. Anywho, this past weekend was a blast. I'm thinking my exhaustion has something to do with that.

Friday Pam and I drove to Cleveland to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Science Center. That place is very cool. I did not know that The Who made a movie called Tommy. It must have been very popular because the top 2 floors was all about it/them. We were also able to see clothes celebrities actually wore. I saw outfits from Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Tiffany, and others. They must be very tiny girls, I guess the camera really does add 10 pounds on people, geez.

Saturday, Chad, Kelly, Mike, and I woke up super early and arrived to Edinboro at 6:45am to catch a bus to Cedar Point. The tickets only cost us 15.00 a piece so it was definitely worth it. I haven't been there in about 2 years and it is amazing how quickly you forget what some rides are like. I remembered that I loved the Millenium Force roller coaster, but it blew my mind again as I rode it. I can't believe how fast that thing is! We tried the new ride called MaxAir and that was interesting. It felt like I was being thrown into the air then falling. That was very fun. So, we get home at like midnight and have a good night sleep to awaken at noon Sunday.

So, Sunday, Chad and I leave Erie about 5:00pm to visit with some friends in Uniontown. We arrive there at 8:00pm and have some food and drinks. We played games and hung out. Monday came and we headed home about 4:00 I think, stopped at another friends house, had dinner, looked at wedding pics, then headed home about 6:00 or so. We arrived home around 9:00pm and I was beat. The next day, was a work day and I was so wanting to call of, but I couldn't b/c I had court of course. Anyways, I am hoping to get a new job or at least a new position. I will keep hoping. Work is keeping me busy that's for sure. I need to get caught up though...ahhhh!

Alright, it has been about 10 days and I suppose I ought to update here since I do have some time on my hands. Last weekend Chad and I went to the Erie Zoo with Mike and Kelly. It was nice to go to the zoo without kids and getting to actually enjoy it. Thanks for the tour Mike and Kelly!! This weekend what did I do? Friday went with Pam down to Sara's to get some ice cream then she came over and hung out. Saturday I did some shopping with my niece then rented The Notebook and Hackers and watched movies with the hubby. I finished watching the notebook this afternoon and boy were my eyes dripping like a faucet. That movie was such a good love story, when at first I didn't think it would be. For dinner we went over to grama Martini's and she made a wonderful roast beef dinner with all the fixins. Agh, back to work tomorrow.

I need to take some days off of work...soon. Today I got my free pair of panties from Victoria's Secret, thanks for getting that coupon in the mail honey! Today I didn't do much. Just worked then came home and made some yummy pasta, yummy brownies for the picnic tomorrow, and did some laundry. I guess I will see what is on Leno.
